Salvation Army’s “Gifts of the Season Program” Is Underway!

The Salvation Army’s “Gifts of the Season Program” begins, Monday, November 8th.  For those in need, this program offers FREE toys and food to families in Greene and Christian Counties.

Those who can participate must live in either Greene or Christian Counties with children 16 and younger, seniors 60 and older, or disabled people.

This year Salvation Army will be offering toys and food as well as the Blessings of Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace.

The following items need to be brought with you when you apply:

1.Valid Photo ID for person applying.

2. Social Security Cards for each person in the household.

3. Proof of address with applicant’s name; Monthly bill, (utility, phone, bank) dated: September, October or November or a Copy of your current lease or Section 8 paperwork.

4. If you are disabled, you must bring your award letter for verification.

The Salvation Army will be assisting:

• Families with children age 16 and under

• Households with seniors age 60 and up

• Households with disabled individuals

WHERE: 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway

WHEN – Sign-up times are as follows:

Documents will be accepted 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. on November 8th – 11th and November 14th – 18th.

If you are granted assistance,  the distribution dates will be December 15th from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. for families and December 14th from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. for seniors and disabled people. You’ll get your appointment time when you sign up for the program.
