Women Veterans Mobilizing Our Community! A Family Expo and Open House

Women Veterans of Southwest Missouri American Legion Post 1214 are hosting an Open House on Saturday September 9th from 9am to 12pm! This is an opportunity for us to share the mission of the American Legion whose four pillars of service prioritize helping our fellow Veterans, supporting programs for Children and Youth, sharing programs dedicated to Americanism, and safeguarding National Security. We will have Legionnaires on hand to discuss the important scholarship opportunities for High School Juniors to attend Boys State, Girls State and the annual high school student Oratorical Speech contest with a scholarship prize.
The Veterans Healthcare System of the Ozarks Post 9/11 VA Transition Team will be there for assistance with benefits and enrollment. They will also have medical personnel on hand for PACT Act Screening, Flu Shots, and other VA entitlement assistance. We will be highlighting over 25 Veteran Owned small businesses, locally owned small businesses and boutiques, and several Veteran and community resource organizations! The event is open to the public and they can visit with each company or service provider inside the Great Hall of the historic American Legion Goad Ballinger Memorial Post 69, located at 149 Memorial Plaza in Springfield.
A special prize ticket will be given to each guest to redeem at one of the tables! Kids patriotic fun table and activities! The American Legion Post 69 Kitchen will be open for breakfast and regular menu items from 0830 to 12:00pm!
