Kite and Pinata Festival

Welcome spring and celebrate culture with Springfield Sister Cities! This free event for all ages highlights Springfield’s sister city relationship with Isesaki, Japan and Tlaquepaque, Mexico.
Bring a kite to fly on the great lawn or purchase a kite kit to build and decorate one at the event. Kids can line up to whack a piรฑata nearby.
Browse our vendors and a mini market featuring Japanese and Mexican snacks, candies, beverages and souvenirs.

Springfield Sister Cities Association is a nonprofit organization that encourages goodwill between the people of Springfield and its sister cities by creating and promoting opportunities to foster multi-cultural awareness and appreciation. SSCA’s vision is peace through people.
Springfield has sister city relationships with Isesaki, Japan (formed in 1986) and Tlaquepaque, Mexico (formed in 2003)
