Resolve to Get Involved – Ozarks Food Harvest

Ozarks Food Harvest is encouraging the community to participate in their Resolve to Get Involved volunteer campaign to help provide meals to the 1 in 5 children and 1 in 6 adults facing hunger in southwest Missouri.

Sarah Byrd, volunteer program manager at Ozarks Food Harvest, shared in a news release, “Through our Resolve to Get Involved campaign, you can ensure children, families and seniors facing hunger across a third of the state have a meal to put on the table.”

Ozarks Food Harvest offers 17 volunteer sessions every week at the O’Reilly Center for Hunger Relief and their partner gardens.

Volunteers can expect to sort food items, use food safety guidelines for inspection, and make product ready for distribution. Volunteers may also be asked to help build Senior Food Boxes, assemble Weekend Backpack Program food bags, make Hope Notes to go inside food bags, sort seeds for the Full Circle Gardens program, and assist with gleaning at partner gardens.
