Springfield Cardinals Hammons Field announced as 2024 Professional Baseball Field of the Year

The Sports Field Management Association and Springfield Cardinals recently announced, Hammons Field, the home of the Springfield Cardinals, has been named the 2024 Professional Baseball Field of the Year!

The Professional Baseball Field of the Year honor is awarded to the best natural grass field among all 120 teams across all levels of affiliated Minor League Baseball.

According to a news release, Springfield Cardinals General Manager, Dan Reiter, shared, “Winning this award is a huge honor for the City of Springfield, our organization, our Director of Field and Stadium Operations Derek Edwards and Manager of Field Operations Nathan Strait. Since the city purchased Hammons Field in early 2023, we have both been committed to improving this ballpark on the field and in the stands. We are so grateful for the unwavering support from our community who inspire us daily to maintain the highest standards for Hammons Field.”

This is the first time the Springfield Cardinals have won the Professional Baseball Field of the Year award.
