Ozark School District High School Storm Shelter and Indoor Activities Building NOW OPEN

Ozark School District recently opened a new storm shelter/gym and the new indoor activities center!

According to a news release, These projects are the last of the 2022 bond projects, which included storm shelters at Tiger Paw Early Childhood Center, Ozark Middle School and OHS, as well as a new entrance at OMS and an indoor activities center at OHS. The $19 million no-tax-increase bond issue focused on safety while accommodating Ozark’s growing community,

The new indoor practice facility features a 20-to-20 yard line turf and will serve P.E., athletics, student groups, and is available for use by the Ozark community.

The storm shelter dual purpose, also serving as a gym for P.E. classes and a practice space for student activities.

In a news release, Ozark High School Principal Dr. Phillip Witt shared, “We’re entering a new era at Ozark High School, one filled with promise and opportunity. These facilities are cornerstones of that future, where our students can thrive in and out of the classroom, while becoming leaders in our community and shaping a brighter future for us all.”
