City of Springfield Environmental Services – Dish to Dirt Food Scraps Recycling

The City of Springfield Environmental Services recently launched a Food Scraps Pilot Program, Dish to Dirt Food Scraps Recycling. The pilot program is scheduled to run from September 29th through the end of May 2025.  

“The Dish to Dirt Food Scraps Drop-Off Pilot program is FREE to participating community members with drop-off locations at each of the City’s recycling centers. Organic matter collected through the pilot will be taken to the Yardwaste Recycling Center and turned into good, clean compost.” – City of Springfield Environmental Services

If you would like to participate in the Dish to Dirt Food Scraps Recycling Pilot Program, you MUST be register as a participant. CLICK HERE to register.

The City of Springfield Environmental Services will NOT be accepting residential food scraps from community members that are not registered as a participant of the Dish to Dirt Food Scraps Recycling Pilot Program.
