Missouri State University President Clif Smart Announced Retirement at End of Academic Year

Missouri State University President Clif Smart, recently announced he will be retiring at the end of this academic year.

President Smart has served as the 11th president of Missouri State University since June 27th, 2011.

“It has been my greatest honor to serve as president of Missouri State University,” Smart said. “I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the unyielding dedication and the remarkable passion of our students, faculty and staff.” – news release from Missouri State University

President Smart shared, the Board of Governors will be appointing a search committee this month, September 2023, to begin the process of selecting the next president of Missouri State University.
