If you have been delaying on preparing your taxes, time is running out… federal tax returns are due in less than a week!
For the majority Americans, the deadline to file federal tax returns is Tuesday, April 18, 2023. This is because April 15th is on a Saturday and the next weekday, Monday, April 17, is recognized as Emancipation Day in Washington, DC.
If you plan on using snail-mail to file your taxes make sure the envelope has a post mark date stating April 18th or before, so you wont be fined a late fee. Filing electronically could be a safer avenue if you still need to file your taxes.
