The Ward Downtown YMCA is closing March 31st, 2023.
The current location of Ward Downtown YMCA, located at 417 S Jefferson Ave, has been in downtown Springfield for 110 years.
According to Ward Downtown YMCA leaders, the reasoning for the closing of Ward Downtown YMCA is ongoing problems including the high cost of maintaining the old structure, declining membership, etc.
According to a letter to members, current Ward Downtown YMCA members will be able to use the Pat Jones YMCA, located at1901 E. Republic Road, and select other ORYMCA branches across the Ozarks due to the closing of this location.
