Recycle Your Live Christmas Trees

Don’t throw away those live Christmas trees, instead take off all the tinsel, lights and ornaments and RECYCLE them. Most areas are free or have a little fee for drop offs. Check out the list of places to recycle live Christmas trees below.

The City of Springfield YardWaste Recycling Center

Located at 3790 S. Farm Road 119 in Brookline, MO. Will accept residential Christmas trees, wreaths, garlands and other organic decorations for no charge between December 27th and January 27th, 2023. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Closed Sundays, Mondays, and national holidays.

Bass Pro Shops 

Located at1938 S. Campbell Avenue, Springfield, MO., across the street from the main store entrance. Will accept live trees between noon and 6 p.m. December 26th through the 31st. A donation is recommended, which benefits the Ozark Trails Council Boy Scouts Wa-Sha-She Lodge Order of the Arrow.

Hansen’s Greenwaste

Located at 3341 S. Farm Road 107 in Brookline, MO. Will accept residential Christmas trees for no fee, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., December 27th through January 31st, 2023.

Wickman’s Gardens

Located at 1345 S. Fort Ave., Springfield, MO. Will accept live Christmas trees beginning December 27th for a $5 donation. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Proceeds will be donated to the The Kitchen. Live cut trees only, NO flocked or artificial trees accepted.
