Springfield-Greene County Park Board and Community Partnership of the Ozarks partner for musical playground

The Springfield-Greene County Park Board and the Community Partnership of the Ozarks are partnering for a new musical playground is scheduled to be built in Phelps Grove Park! The park will be called the ‘Roseann Bentley Musical Playground’.

The park will be the first musical playground in Springfield! The playground will be interactive, fully accessible, and designed for kids of all ages, with playground version of instruments including xylophones, drums, percussion pieces, built in colorful shares of flowers and trees, accounting to a recent news release.

The playground is planned to be funded entirely by donations. The Community Partnership of the Ozarks and Springfield-Greene County Park Board hope to raise $100,000. For more information, CLICK HERE.

The park will be named after Roseann Bentley.

Roseann was a a founding member of the Community Partnership of the Ozarks Board of Directors. She was on the statewide Families and Community Trust board, represented CPO, and helped shape other community partnerships across Missouri.Roseann also had a lifetime service to the community, specifically to children and education. She was a teacher, who served on the Springfield school board, the state school board, the National Association of State Boards of Education, and the parents As Teachers National Board. Roseann was the first woman elected to the state senate from southwest Missouri and a Greene County Commissioner.
