DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDING

The first Sunday in November is when Daylight Savings Time ends in most of the U.S. On Sunday, November 6th, at 2 a.m., the clock will “fall back” one hour, return to Standard Time, and we will get one extra hour of sleep.

With the return of Standard Time, the sun will rise earlier, but also set earlier. In Springfield, the sun will set at 6:11 p.m. on Saturday, and set an hour earlier on Sunday, making the sun set at 5:11 p.m.

The amount of daylight will continue to lessen each day until December 21st when the winter solstice arrives. Once the winter solstice arrives, the length of days will begin to increase until the summer solstice on June 21st, 2023.

This is your reminder to set your clocks BACK one hour before bed Saturday night!
